Not as many showers as you might expect for this time of the year. Lot more action in the yard and in the street by my parents, and random people. Enjoy this tune from Rodrigo y Gabriela titled Santa Domingo. The first time I ever heard Rodrigo y Gabriela was at the Coachella music festival 5 years ago. I walked by a tent in which everyone was jumping, dancing and clapping along to the music. I had to stop and take them in. They put on such a fun show, and should not be missed if you ever have the chance to see them live.

February 2012 Timelapse

February is generally an ugly month, and as you can see by this video, this year was no different. Howling winds, sleet, snow and sloppy weather. Dispersed throughout however were a few sunny days.

Music for this month is from Jake Shimabukuro. He is one of most talented ukulele players around. I have had the pleasure of getting to see him play twice before. The first time was at Bonnoroo a few years back. We caught the end of a set from Donovan Frankenreiter and for one of the last songs Jake came on stage and ripped it up on his uke. We made certain to catch his set on the last day of the festival, and were glad we did; he rocked it!

The second time I got to see him was travelling through Hawaii his home state. On our last day in Kauai, we found out he was playing a benefit concert for a school. We grabbed tickets, changed our flight to leave after his show, and got to watch him play a school auditorium. It was fantastic. After the show we got to chat with him for a few minutes before we ran off to catch our flight.

So if you ever get a chance to checkout Jake, make sure you do as you will not be disappointed.

Pretty fun timelapse this month. Lots and lots of snow and sunny days. Love the way the low sunlight glances off the neighbours telephone wires. Also checkout my tireless father out shovelling the snow!
